On a plot in between existing buildings an industrial building with offices and workshops for a famous jeweller is proposed. The project deals with the double need of controlling and establishing a spatial relationship with the surroundings. To solve this, an open South and West orientated patio is designed enabling visual links between the different floors and opening the enclosed internal spaces to a safe exterior space. Vehicular and pedestrian access into the building is merged into an unique space characterized by a porticoed element which acts as a transition piece from and to the surrounding street.
